weird?
18:59:26  JohnSchinker ->  I don't here anything at
all :-)
19:00:09  JohnSchinker ->  I'm getting errors on the
stream on EdTechTalk A
19:00:32  davec0 ->  try again?
19:01:05  JohnSchinker ->  Hey -- there you are
19:01:45  JohnSchinker ->  Sounds good in the stream
19:03:25  davec0 ->  http://www.jarche.com/?p=1009
19:03:40  alicemercer ->  Is the skypecast on?
19:04:15  JohnSchinker ->  Don't think there's a
skypecast. I'm just listening to the stream
19:04:21  alicemercer ->  k
19:04:25  alicemercer ->  k
19:05:05  JohnSchinker ->  Vista scares me.
19:05:14  davec0 ->  oh yes
19:05:16  JohnSchinker ->  Our school won't be using
it until summer 08 at the earliest.
19:05:19  davec0 ->  i'm very scared
19:06:29  JohnSchinker -> EdTechTalk:
http://staff.bbhcsd.org/schinkerj/archives/2006/12/18/why-not-vista/
19:06:30  alicemercer ->  We just upgraded this
summer to XP at my district, so I'm not counting on the upgrade to Vista happening
soon.
19:06:47  davec0 ->  i haven't seen any reason to do so
19:06:59  JenM -> EdTechTalk:
http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/10/vista-successor-vienna-planned-for-la...
19:07:23  JohnSchinker ->  XP was huge for us. It
solved a lot of problems. But Vista -- I don't think there's any killer app there.
19:08:03  davec0 -> EdTechTalk:
http://www.google.com/interstitial?url=http://www.newcybertech.com/
19:08:15  alicemercer ->  I'm an end user, so I don't
know what the advantadge was for the switch to XP. We had to get rid of old
computers. They did get us new ones.
19:08:28  davec0 ->  that's an advantage!
19:08:46  davec0 -> EdTechTalk:
http://www.techworld.com/opsys/news/index.cfm?newsID=7972&pagtype=all
19:08:52  alicemercer ->  Yeah, I'm not betting
they'll do that again, lol!
19:09:11  JohnSchinker ->  We found XP to be a lot
more stable than 98.
19:09:12  alicemercer ->  I saw the link that Dave
posted in del.icio.us
19:10:07  JenM ->  http://grammar.qdnow.com/
19:10:39  alicemercer ->  Am I hearing some canadian
chauvanism in those comments on BC?
19:10:40  JohnSchinker ->  How do you get the data
back from the other universe?
19:10:45  davec0 ->  :)
19:10:48  davec0 ->  yay canada!
19:11:02  davec0 ->  what if the other university
implodes?
19:11:07  davec0 ->  or goes on vacation?
19:11:10  alicemercer ->  Hey, with us as neighbors,
ya gotta stick up for yourselves.
19:11:44  JohnSchinker ->  Grammar girls is great.
19:11:54  JohnSchinker ->  I've used it to replace
the word nerds
19:12:07  alicemercer ->  I didn't get a chance to
grammar girls. what sort of subjects do they cover besides bad (adj) vs. badly
(adv.)
19:12:17  JenM -> EdTechTalk:
http://www.barcampusa.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
19:12:27  alicemercer ->  Ah, better for university.
so it's not for elementary, nevermind
19:12:31  JohnSchinker ->  You're going to get a lot
of english teachers listening and using specific shows once in a while to illustrate
a point for their classes
19:12:49  JohnSchinker ->  Alice: she did lay vs lie
19:13:07  alicemercer ->  OH that is a SPECIFIC
standard in California for fifth.
19:13:12  JohnSchinker ->  My high school english
teachers were excited about it
19:13:13  alicemercer ->  Maybe I'll do that for test
review
19:13:41  JohnSchinker ->  "lie down sally, and rest
you in my arms..."
19:13:47  JenM ->  To find the links for tonight's
webcast click here http://del.icio.us/edtechtalk/20070211

19:14:34  JohnSchinker ->  I read your blog, Dave
19:14:49  JohnSchinker ->  I'm looking for wp themes
that are good for elementary school teachers and kids
19:14:55  JohnSchinker ->  They're hard to find --

19:15:04  JohnSchinker ->  Jen: Wordpress rocks

is VERY flexible: http://mizmercer.edublogs.org
19:16:16  JenM ->  http://www.senduit.com/
19:16:17  JohnSchinker ->  WP is clean and simple.
There's practically no learning curve to it.
19:16:19  alicemercer ->  Question on WP themes on
edublogs, can you port in other themes without buying premium
19:16:26  JohnSchinker ->  It's perfect for teachers
who don't want to be web designers
19:16:58  alicemercer ->  Hey more info on the
Podcast plugin???
19:17:29  JohnSchinker ->  http://www.podpress.org/
19:18:09  alicemercer ->  works with edublogs?
19:18:27  JohnSchinker ->  Don't know if it works
w/edublogs. It's a plugin for WP2
19:18:33  JenM -> EdTechTalk:
http://baw07participants.pbwiki.com/toolsexplored
19:18:48  JohnSchinker ->  Which I think they're
using over at edublogs. So if you can install plugins, it should work
19:18:51  JenM ->  http://www.chinswing.com/
19:18:56  davec0 ->  [8:12:02 PM] Worldbridges says:
http://www.barcampusa.com [8:18:17 PM] Worldbridges says: http://baw07participants.
[8:18:42 PM] Worldbridges says: http://www.chinswing.com/
19:19:38  alicemercer ->  Yeah, they are using an
anarchy plugin that seems REALLY fussy about the MP3 format.

http://web.mit.edu/persci/people/adelson/checkershadow_illusion.html?gray
19:19:59  alicemercer ->  but it might also be the
