Week of February 7, 2009 to February 13, 2009

Welcome to the this week's edition of the EdTechTalk (ETT) Weekly Newsletter. This week the ED 21 Unconference in Cerritos California is Saturday, February 21, 2009. There will be a ustream session http://ed21online.com/ at 8:30 am-11:00amPST/11:30am-2:00pm EST.  The ustream will be on http://edtechalk.com/live .
This week's posted shows include:

  • Have a listen as the It’s Elementary team interview Jeff Utech from The Thinking Stick. Our topic was Wikis in Education.  A great example of a webcast that almost never was or as Jeff Lebow says “Webcasting can be a very humbling endeavour” or as Jennifer Maddrell said in the ETT Show Hosts chat, @jose ... trying to think of the most cheesy catch phrase (think the despair posters) and the best I can come up with ... "It takes the bitterness of the dips to appreciate the sweetness of the peaks" or "If webcasting is the intersection of messy and magical ... you were standing in the intersection when the light turned green" ... for some reason that one is REALLY cracking me up ...  Thanks to the Edtechtalk Community for all your support and @everyone and YES the sun will rise again for It's Elementary.
  • This week Maria Knee, Sheila Adams, and Lisa Parisi were joined by Gary Stager in a discussion about the Constructivist theory of learning.
  • I crashed the Webcast Academy's meeting and Jeff most graciously hosted the call and the stream. We talk about Skype, mobile phones, and roadkill. The virtual staff lounge lived-up to its name again this week.... Special thanks to those who waited around for the host to get there!
  • Clive Goodinson of Pixton Comics joins us for the show

  • Conversations Show 25 02 01 2009
