Week of August 22-28, 2009

Welcome to this week's EdTechTalk (ETT) Newsletter! School bells are ringing and there is renewed energy and excitement in the air as the new school year begins in many of our schools. While many of our EdTechTalk shows took a brief hiatus this summer so show hosts could get a much-needed, well-deserved break, the webcasts are beginning to return with that same renewed energy and excitement. Many of the latest webcasts are talking about great new plans and ideas being considered for classrooms/schools and professional development endeavors. "EdTechBrainstorm" this week already started brainstorming about exciting ideas for Earthcast 2010! "Teachers Teaching Teachers" had another fantastic conversation about new ideas for using Youth Voices with students this year and are exploring the use of Diigo as part of Youth Voices. "Conversations" with Lisa Parisi and Maria Knee had a lively discussion and sharing of ideas last week around the topic of alternatives for developing your own personal learning plan as an educator. If you missed any of these shows, be sure to check out the recordings and chat logs on our website. You can also subscribe to the EdTechTalk newsletter via RSS feed and have them all delivered directly to your feedreader!! The link to subscribe to the feed is at the bottom of every ETT newsletter--see link and instructions below. It's really been inspiring to see various tweets coming through where people are sharing they just finished listening to an ETT recording that may have aired any time during the past year!! Awesome way to keep our learning going any time/any place! The show archives are there for you whenever you want them.

The Week in Review

Conversations #45 August 23, 2009 This week Lisa and Maria were joined by Scott Carter to discuss such the topic of professional development. The discussion began with the question - How do you grow as a professional?
