Welcome to this week's edition of the EdTechTalk (ETT) Weekly Newsletter!

There have been some amazing conversations on all of the EdTechTalk webcasts this past week so if you haven't been able to join in the live chat and conversations, we hope you can find some time to go back and listen to some of the podcasts. The Teachers Teaching Teachers show was an exceptional model of the stimulating, thought-provoking, sharing, brainstorming exchange that happens when you bring on invited guests in Skype and have a lively chat room going. Felicia George, one of the featured guests from the National Writing Project shared the highlights of the show with us--see what you missed?! :-) This show is another great example of the outstanding opportunities available through our personal/professional learning networks! (The podcast isn't posted yet but should be coming very soon!)

Last Wednesday’s Teachers Teaching Teachers webcast (November 12) featured a presentation sponsored by the National Writing Project’s Technology Liaisons Technology Network and Technology Initiative program. Four of the presenters – Seth Mitchell, high school teacher and Tech Liaison for the Maine Writing Project (University of Maine); Sarah Hunt-Barron, middle school teacher, teacher consultants of the Upstate Writing Project in South Carolina and doctoral student at Clemson University; Rebecca Kaminski, Director Upstate Writing Project in South Carolina and professor at Clemson University, Georgia; Felicia George, Associate Director of the New York City Writing Project at Lehman College; and Laura Stokes from Inverness Research in California – joined Alice Barr a technology teacher from Maine, and Christina Cantrill, of the National Writing Project to share stories about the exploration of writing and the core literacies of the "digital age." These Writing Project teachers and their colleagues also shared stories about how they support their fellow teachers to further their development in teaching writing in a digital environment. Many interesting ideas about the students’ enthusiasm for writing to real audiences and generating more writing were discussed along with issues that local programs face when offering professional development services to teachers in their area. The presentation, Writing in the Digital Age, has been planned for the program at the National Writing Project’s Annual Meeting in San Antonio November 20 through the 21.

This week Dr. Scott McLeod joined us to discuss his K-12 Online Presentation entitled Current leadership models are inadequate for disruptive innovations. An must listen for anyone interested in leadership and school change. Thanks to Scott for his time and the excellent conversation.
Next Thursday, 11/20 we'll have Will Schwalbe co-author of the book SEND: The Essential Guide to Email for Office and Home. We have a going a special show scheduled on Monday, 11/24 at noon with Michael Horn co-author of Disrupting Class.

This week the show focused on the Presidential election outcome. What can we expect as educators with Barack Obama as president? Maria Knee and Lisa Parisi were joined by Michael Smith, Sylvia Tolisano, and Minhaaj ur Rehman to discuss ideas.

EdTechTalk is a community of people interested in the use of technology to improve teaching and learning at all levels of education throughout the world. As a Worldbridges community, it embraces the values of collaboration and inclusiveness. The primary activity of the community is the production of a number of live, interactive webcasts. These programs cover a wide range of topics relating to educational technology. Shows are typically streamed live, and listeners can interact with one another and the show hosts through a text chat. Recordings of the shows are released as podcasts. Participation in the community is encouraged for anyone who has an interest in educational technology. Participation may take many forms, from simply listening to shows produced by the community to more actively working to produce and distribute content for the network.
