EdTechTalk has been a webcasting community of practice since 2005. We meet here to talk about education, technology, our practice and any thing else that's on our minds as educators.
Discussion with George Viebranz & Roy Norris.
Wiki Textbook Project Webcast#6 , Part 2
February 22, 2006
This show picks up in the middle of the conversation with john mullaney, george Viebranz and Roy Norris. In part two of our discussion , we continued along the road of seeing what could be done to get a wikitextbook project actually started. What kinds of questions would we need to ask? Who would be involved? What are the core issues? What are the steps? All that and the now famous "what would you do if we gave you three million dollars?"
Dave Cormier and Jeff Lebow Talk internet security. The show starts with Jeff talking about the Server Disaster of 2006, about things lost, and new beginning. There is no way to guarantee that your information wont be stolen or destroyed, but there are many things you can do to protect yourself.
Dave Cormier and Jeff Lebow join the discussion. And we discuss our reactions to our recent loss of data and how the community has responded. We also revisit the notion of community and what it means in online environments.
With
Dave out of town and offline, Jeff cranks up the stream and hopes
EdTech'ers skype in to hang out. Fortunately, he's joined by Rob Wall,
Bud Hunt, Graham Stanley, and Christine Bauer-Ramazani and we talk
about everything from wysiwyg wiki's to podcasting in academia.
