I ran into a very interesting person on Friday. She started talking about micro-education projects in Brazil, cutting edge education at MIT and how the television was the key technology in breaking down accessibility barriers. I said... "wow, you've gotta come on the show and tell us about it." she said yes.

19:24:34 SusanEttenheim: will tvs disappear for computers and digital I wonder?
19:24:46 JasonR: Has Elana ever worked with interactive videoconferencing?
19:25:05 Cortney: if casts are programmed accordingly -- they'll be in the middle.....no ...I think it'll evolve into a very different society ruled programming vs FCC regulated programming
19:27:03 JL: Mr. Roger's speaks to U.S. Congress about importance of Educational TV http://youtube.com/watch?v=pC6SIN0bCvs&search=mr.%20rogers
19:29:50 Paul_Ellerman: I think that they will not necessarily disappear, but rather merge.
19:30:07 Paul_Ellerman: that being computers and tvs
19:30:39 JL: anyone out there in the skypecast have a question or comment?

19:45:47 JenW: yep -- no additives -- just the basics
19:46:10 JasonR: Regarding online instructions, check this out: collaborative step-by-step instructions: http://www.instructables.com/. Wouldn't take too much to turn the website into something like this, but interactive: http://www.diynetwork.com/
19:46:38 Cortney: right....and foodnetwork.com does some pretty interesting stuff too sometimes
19:46:41 Lee: I think of it as it develops naturally form the interaction of students to each other , with the data being learned, and the facilitator
19:47:05 JenW: I agree -- I think foodnetwork.com has some excellent shows
19:47:21 JenW: and some of the Reality Travel shows are great geography shows as well
19:47:33 Cortney: yes and I think some of what they're doing and where they're heading ties directly into this cincept
19:47:36 JenW: like Treasure Hunters -- excellent problem solving
19:47:47 Cortney: concept too
19:48:02 JenW: and the extra game they have -- is pretty good too.

20:03:02 JenW: I don't think the problem is with the video
20:03:18 JenW: I think it is with the teachers using the video and how they prsent and use it
20:03:35 JenW: I mean -- if there is no preparation -- then you shouldn't show the video
